How long
will it take?
Job length
depends on the type of job, parts availability and shop workload. Our
owner & head technician can change an engine in less than a week
given no delays in parts availability or other problems, so no worries
- we'll get your ride on the road again as soon as possible!
Can you
recommend some good places to buy parts from?
Sure, we
use Jegs, Summit
Racing, JC Whitney,
AutoSportz,
Bike Bandit,
AutoLoc, Extreme Dimensions, our local Napa, Advance, Bap-Geon, and others. Plus, we have
a laundry list of specialty vendors and performance brands. If you have
done research on your own parts and already know what you want, by all
means bring your info and we may be able to get a better price! We are
also a certified member of JC Whitney's InstallPro program and a Crane
Cams Pro Engine Rebuilder.
Will you
do work on my dead 1969 Ford Mustang?
Yes, all
makes and models, new and old. We can also rebuild engines and rewire
electrical problems, and troubleshoot and diagnose any
type of automotive problem. We also do ground-up restorations, frame-off
or frame-on.
What
kind of warranty do you offer on your repairs?
We offer
a 90-Day Warranty on labor concurrent with any warranty the parts may
come with. For salvage or aftermarket (non OEM) performance parts installations,
our 90-Day Warranty does not apply. For factory (non-performance) engine
and transmission rebuilds, 6-month to 2-year warranties apply, depending
on the type of rebuild.
Why should
I choose Custom Cars 'n Bikes over a large repair shop or the dealer?
We provide
customized service tailored to your needs. We are happy to fully answer
any of your questions and concerns about your vehicle, provide maintenance
recommendations and personalize your service in a conversational way.
We focus on providing high-quality personalized service at an affordable
price, not high-volume in-and-out repairs like larger shops or dealerships.
Our goal is "customers for life."
What
kind of certification and experience do your technicians have?
Our owner & head technician has been working on cars since the age of 12. He became an
A.S.E. Certified mechanic in 1990. He attended Seattle International
Trade School for Mechanics and was #1 in his class, then attended Arizona
Tech for two more years. His love affair with cars started at the age
of 5 with Hotwheels, and he started tinkering with real vehicles at
13 when he built his first go-cart from a lawnmower motor, and 14 when
he built his first minibike.
We also have two full-time technicians on staff: John, a Master ASE Technician and experienced fabricator, and Richard, who has been wrenching on cars since he was a kid.
All of our mechanic's helpers work toward
obtaining the 2-year experience requirement for the ASE Certification,
and if they are nearing that requirement, participate in study programs
to prepare for the ASE tests.
If my
car is dead, can you bring it back to life?
Yes. No
job too big or small, we do it all.
